Quincy Man arrested for a series of hit and runs

Quincy Police made an arrest tonight in a series of hit-and-runs in downtown late last night.

According to Q-P-D, 42-year old Arthur McNair, of Quincy, hit four vehicles with his truck, including one owned by Robert Havens.

McNair was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident, no valid driver's license, improper lane usage, failure to reduce speed and improper backing.

Havens said he tried to follow the truck after it hit his car, but it quickly sped away.

"We pulled out of the alley onto 6th Street between Hampshire and Main and when I looked there were no cars coming, and then before we even got to Main his car was attached to our back bumper," said Havens.

QPD said the truck also plowed over a fence at 7th and York.
