Hy-Vee serves free breakfast for military

Several Tri-State events will honor our local veterans and it began bright and early Monday morning in Quincy.

Both Quincy Hy-Vee stores offered a free breakfast to all veterans and active-duty military members.

Dozens of American flags borrowed from the Great River Honor Flight also lined the parking lot.

More than 200 Hy-Vee stores in the Midwest hoped to serve 80,000 veterans Monday.

One local vet says this was the third time he's attended this event.

"I really appreciate it. And I'm sure the rest of them do. And it's good will. And I think they will gain business by doing it," said Marshall Woodworth.
