MoDOT offers new traveler's information app

HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -

Wondering about road conditions in Missouri? There's a new and improved app for that.

The Missouri Department of Transportation's Traveler Information App has expanded features, including updated maps, easier to use pinch and zoom methods and a "My Routes" program.

Drivers can customize the routes they take everyday, so they can see work zones or road closures.

And with the winter weather coming, MoDOT also added a new text alert service.

"You know, everyone drives. And everyone expects in today's world, technology to be at their fingertips twenty four seven. So even though the traveler information map is online on your computer twenty four seven, now you have it in your palm," Marisa Ellison, MoDOT Customer Relations Manager, said.

The free MoDOT app is available on iPhone and Android markets.
