The Hannibal Tree Board received a generous $500 donation from the Salt River Master Gardeners.
The donation comes just in time as the Tree Board says it's expecting to have to replant about a dozen trees due to the drought. The Board takes care of about 250 trees inside the city. Tree Board President Kristy Trevathan said this donation will go a long way for the group.
"It's validity that our program is meaningful and people appreciate us and that we serve a very good purpose in our community, but $500 will help buy several trees we need to replace after a very serious drought," Trevathan said.
The annual budget for the Tree Board is $2,600.
