Blessing Foundation looking for assistance for travel assistance for cancer patients

High gas prices continue to have a lasting impact, especially on those traveling to get cancer treatments at Blessing Hospital.

The Blessing Foundation helps to provide gas and transportation assistance to patients and their families.

This year, they helped 316 people, nearly twice as many as last year. Blessing Foundation officials they now need your help to simply get patients to and from their healthcare appointments.

"They're coming from all around the region and we have a sister hospital, Illini Community hospital in Pittsfield, people come from there, you know Missouri etc. and people need gas money," Ann Awerkamp Dickson, Administrative Director for the Blessing Foundation, said.
