A Fort Madison couple are facing multiple charges following a search warrant conducted at their residence .
Randy Joe Townsend, 45, and Debi Elaine Townsend, 54, were arrested Tuesday, Nov. 13 on felony and misdemeanor drug charges after an investigation into pseudoephedrine purchases being made by the couple.
Randy is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of 5 grams while in possession of a firearm, a class B felony; maintaining a drug house an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of methamphetamine, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor.
If convicted, he faces up to 53 years and 30 days in a state correctional facility.
Debi is charged with conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine in excess of 5 grams while in possession of a firearm second or subsequent offense, a class B felony; possession of a firearm by a felon, a class D felony; possession of methamphetamine second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor; maintaining a drug house second or subsequent offense, an aggravated misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia second or subsequent offense, a simple misdemeanor; and a 24 hour pseudoephedrine purchase violation, a simple misdemeanor.
If convicted, she faces up to 164 years and 120 days in a state correctional facility.
The Lee County Attorney's Office, Donnellson Police Department and the United States Marshals Service assisted the Lee County Narcotics Task Force in this investigation.
