Fort Madison plant recalls over 90,000 pounds of sausage

Posted:

A Fort Madison-based manufacturer has recalled almost 91,000 pounds because it was possibly undercooked.

The recall was announced by the USDA and includes five-ounce cans of bourbon barbecue flavored Armour Vienna Sausage with an establishment number of P-4247. They were produced Sept. 7 of this year and have an expiration date of Sept. 7, 2015.

The release also states that Pinnacle Foods found the problem and stated it was because of "processing time miscalculations," according to a release.

Wal-Mart is the only retail distribution company carrying the products, and there hasn't been any illnesses reported.
