Wounded Warrior Program giving back to military wanting to hunt

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

The Mississippi Valley Hunters and Fishermen's Association is serving those who have served our country.

The organization held a meeting Thursday with local veterans who want to deer hunt this weekend, many for the first time.

The Wounded Warrior Program helps connect those service members with land owners. Organizer Glen Sanders says this is something nice they're able to do something for veterans.

"I don't see it so much as us giving back. You know they've already given to us and it's just a question of them trying to thank us for providing the opportunity and no it's the other way around," said Glenn Sanders, President of the Mississippi Valley Hunters Association.

The hunting trip is completely free for the veterans.
