One extended family got a head start on their Thanksgiving celebration Tuesday with a big turkey dinner.
Chaddock School in Quincy celebrated Thanksgiving and National Family Week today. The food and festivities were accompanied by music from the student choir.
Officials with Chaddock say the event gives kids an opportunity to share a meal and an experience they might not otherwise have.
For a lot of the families that we work with, they might not have had the family traditions that a lot of families have grown up with. So this is a great way for our kids to a have a traditional Thanksgiving meal, and to really get to celebrate in some ways that hopefully will start some new traditions for them going forward," Debbie Reed, Chaddock President, said.
Over 100 Chaddock students, parents and board members attended today's event.
