WINCHESTER, Ill. (WGEM) -

Nearly a dozen students were transported to Passavant Hospital in Jacksonville with minor injuries following a collision between a semi truck and a school bus near Winchester.

The Illinois State Police says that a semi truck turned into the westbound lane of Illinois 100 from the IMCO Precast facility near Whitebridge Road, when a bus carrying 32 students from the Winchester School District collided with the back end of the semi truck's trailer at 8:02 a.m. Wednesday.

Eleven students were taken to Passavant Hospital by ambulance, or by their parents. The drivers of the school bus and semi truck were also taken to Passavant Hospital with minor injuries.

The Illinois State Police says that visibility was approximately 100 feet due to foggy conditions.
