Downtown Quincy business to close by end of the year

Posted: Updated:

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- A downtown Quincy bookstore will shut down by the end of the year.

Great Debate Books is set to close sometime before Christmas.

Managers say technology like e-readers have hurt sales over the past few years.

Great Debate first opened in the Maine Center in the summer of 2008.

Clearance sales are already underway, including all books, shelving and even office equipment.

The store currently employs three people.
