QU announces online graduate programs to start in 2013

Quincy University announced Tuesday it will offer online graduate degree programs starting next year.

Quincy University President Robert Gervasi explained how important it is to have a new way students can get their master's degree from the University.   Grad programs being offered are in Business Administration, Communications, Writing, and Religious Education.   The University expects more students from the local area to take advantage of the program first.

Business Administration classes are already accepting applications.  QU's Director of Online and Nontraditional Programs George Hoemann said the tuition will be the same regardless of if a student is taking online classes or classes on campus.

"Primarily we are known as a regional University, and that will be our first area where we hope to have students come to us, but the genius of online is students can be anywhere and as long as they have an Internet connection, they are welcome to participate in our program," Hoemann said when asked if this new online program will attract students from outside the area.
