The Palmyra woman who was rescued from a house fire in Palmyra Saturday morning is now in fair condition, according to hospital officials.
The woman, identified by fire officials as Darlene Von Thun, was airlifted to the University of Missouri Medical Center in Columbia and was initially in critical condition.
Firefighters responded to her home at 116 Ross Street shortly before 9 a.m. They say the fire started in the kitchen, but an investigation into the cause is ongoing.
Fire crews say the kitchen sustained burn damage, but there is some smoke and water damage in the rest of the home.
