Jacksonville man killed in weekend hunting accident

CHAMBERSBURG, Ill. (WGEM) -

A Jacksonville man is dead after a fatal hunting accident over the weekend.

The Pike County Sheriff's Department received a call around 8:00 a.m. Saturday to a hunting accident in rural Chambersburg.

John Ware was pronounced dead at the scene of a single gunshot wound.

The incident remains under investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Monday morning.
