Prairie City teen charged with residential burglary

A 17-year-old is now facing a residential burglary charge after an investigation by the McDonough County Sheriff's Office.

Lucas B. Wike allegedly entered a Prairie City residence Saturday, Dec. 2 through an unlocked window and stole pills and jewelry. The investigation led authorities to Wike's residence the following day where they recovered jewelry, headphones and money that investigators say came from the burglarized home.

The worth of the items stolen from the residence totaled approximately $500.

Wike is being held in the McDonough County Jail until his first court appearance.
