Cape Air nears 10,000 passengers in and out of Quincy in 2012

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Another big month for Quincy Regional Airport pushes the city closer to a one million dollar grant.

Cape Air reported 979 passengers flew in and out of Quincy Regional Airport last month.

That's the second highest monthly total, surpassed only by October's numbers.

If the airport gets 10,000 passengers before the end of the year, Quincy will qualify for a one million dollar grant for improvement projects at the airport.

The total passengers now stands at 9,014.
