(WGEM) - Pike County Board Chairman Andy Borrowman is one of six applicants who will be interviewed to replace Illinois State Representative Jim Watson.
Watson's resignation took effect Monday as he accepted a position with the Illinois Petroleum Council.
Borrowman says he will be interviewed Sunday by the Macoupin County Republicans and a replacement is expected to be named later this month.
The person selected will finish Watson's unexpired term in the 97th District and then two years as the 100th District representative.
Borrowman says he hopes to be a strong voice for the area in state government.
