If you think downtown Quincy is starting to look a lot like Christmas, it's because businesses are participating in a Christmas window contest.
The Historic Quincy Business District is hosting the contest that encourages downtown businesses to decorate their store front windows for Christmas.
This is the first year HQBD has hosted the event, and the theme is German Christmas.
Organizers say they hope the displays attract shoppers into stores during the holiday season.
"This was something that we talked about with our design committee ways to get people into the holiday spirit downtown and kind of brighten everything up. Certainly we have the decorations in the park and along Main Street with the street lights, but we wanted to get more festive downtown," said Travis Brown of the Historic Quincy Business District.
You can vote for your favorite store online at www.dowtownquincy.com or inside the store of your choice until December 16.
The winning business will receive a prize package.
