Ursa man drives car into creek along Highway 96

URSA, Ill. (WGEM) -

Highway 96, South of Ursa, is back open after a one car accident closed down one lane of it just after 2:00 Wednesday morning. 

According to the Adams County Sheriff's Department, 24 year old Joshua Palmer of Ursa lost control of his vehicle and went down an embankment into Rock Creek.

Palmer was able to walk to the highway where he flagged down a passing Sheriff's Deputy for help.

Palmer refused treatment at the scene.

Highway 96 was shut down to one lane for about an hour to remove the vehicle from the creek.
