QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -- The United Way of Adams County had reason to celebrate Wednesday night.
The United Way raised more than $1,183,000 in this year's campaign. That's more than $45,000 over the goal. John Wood president and campaign chairman John Letts thanked volunteers for all their hard work. He says reconnecting with former donors helped achieve this year's goal.
"The volunteers that have worked here year in and year out have got this down pat and with their work and their connections and honestly we live in one of the most caring areas I've ever experienced."
Jerry Jackson, the president and CEO of Blessing Physician Services was announced as the 2013 United Way of Adams County campaign chair.
