HANNIBAL, Mo. (WGEM) -
As Hannibal city officials decide on what's next for the design of the downtown sidewalk replacement project, crews are putting in a temporary fix.
City Engineer Mark Rees says they are using cold patch asphalt to fill up the holes on the 300 block of Main Street.
Rees says it makes it safer and gives people something hard to walk on.
Sidewalk construction was halted after businesses voiced concerns with the two-tier design.
The city council is expected to review a modified design at its next meeting on Dec. 18.
