In an effort to save money, the Adams County Ambulance Service plans to start in-house billing operations next year.
Director Paul Davis says the Ambulance Board voted to end its contract with current bill collection company Intermedix.
Starting April 1, Medical Business Resources will take over the process and then help the ambulance service move towards independent billing.
The board learned in July the department could have collected an additional $238,000 if there were more thorough follow-ups on accounts.
