Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, wins preliminary award; "America's Choice" voting ends Thursday night

(WGEM) - Miss Illinois, Megan Ervin, has already caught the eyes of the judges in Las Vegas leading up to Saturday night's Miss America Pageant. You can help her compete right now by voting for her online.

You can vote for Megan to become a finalist for the pageant by casting your vote online at the Miss America website, or on Facebook. Voting closes on 11:59 p.m. on Thursday.

Megan was awarded the Lifestyle and Fitness award during Wednesday's second night of preliminary competition at Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. She will receive a $1,000 Amway scholarship for winning the award.

Megan is a Rushville native, and won the title of Miss Illinois in June, after winning the title of Miss Quincy back in March. She won first-runner up in the 2011 Miss Illinois pageant. 

She will compete on Saturday with 52 other titleholders from across the country for the title of Miss America at the 2013 Miss America Pageant at Planet Hollywood Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
