QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

We told you about a benefit to help with medical bills for 2 year-old Easton Zanger, who was fighting an illness at St. Louis Children's Hospital.

We are saddened to report that Easton passed away Saturday afternoon.

He was hospitalized a month shy of his 1st birthday in April 2011 with "Human Herpes Virus Six." Family friends say complications from the virus claimed his life.

Easton was nicknamed "Super-E-Man" because family and friends say he was such a tough little boy and put up a big fight against the illness.

Easton was the youngest of Shannon and Jeff Zanger's four children.
