If you have a loved one oversees and you are sending them something special for the holidays, Monday, December 10, is the last day to mail that package to make sure it gets there by Christmas.
The U.S. Postal Service says Americans will mail more than 15 billion pieces of mail this holiday season.
A supervisor at one local post office says they're expecting business to really pick up as deadlines for mail delivery are approaching.
But, if you want to be sure that your gift gets there in time, officials say to get it out earlier rather than later.
"Mail early; that way you have peace of mind that your packages will arrive safely and in time for Christmas instead of waiting till the last minute," said Melissa Allen, Supervisor of Customer Service at the Post Office.
A couple of other deadlines to keep in mind from the USPS:
December 14 - Parcel Post
December 20 - First-Class Mail
December 21 - Priority Mail
December 22 - Express Mail
