Quincy Kiwanis Club hosts Christmas party for Quincy elementary students

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

Some kids in the Tri-States got to celebrate Christmas a little early.

The Quincy Noon Kiwanis Club held their annual children's Christmas party Monday. Third graders from Adams, Berrian, Dewey and Washington Elementary Schools got a chance to see Santa and get a present.

One club member says they like to host events like this, because they are dedicated to the children.

"Well I think it's just nice for them to see some role models to see what volunteering is. To give them the opportunity to do that when they grow up, see what it's like. Also to know that they're loved," Kiwanis member Susie Lee said.

The party also included free pizza and sugar cookies for all the children.
