The Christmas season is a time of giving, and one tri-state organization is hoping you will help them help others.
The Lee County Salvation Army's Red Kettle Drive is almost 40 thousand dollars short of its goal for this year.
Officials say they are in need of any monetary, toy or food donations for the holiday season.
Within the next week, food and toy baskets will be assembled and given to dozens of families in need.
"With the economy the way it is, we have so many families struggling either without a job or their hours have been cut. This way we guarantee that each one of them will have a blessed Christmas, the kids will have toys under the tree," said Major Diana Amick.
The Red Kettle drive ends December 24th, but donations are accepted anytime of the year.
