WEST QUINCY, Mo. (WGEM) -

Authorities say a Taylor man was killed early Sunday morning as he was trying to walk across U.S. 24.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says 35-year-old William Oliver was hit by an eastbound truck around 3:15 a.m. one miles west of West Quincy.

Authorities say Oliver was not at a crosswalk and failed to yield to traffic.

Oliver was pronounced dead at the scene.
