Reward offered in theft of metal bridge parts in McDonough Co.

Authorities in McDonough County are offering a $1,000 reward for tips on who stole massive sections of a metal bridge.

The Macomb Area Crime Stoppers say sometime between Nov. 11 and Dec. 5, someone stole more than 40 metal bridge pilings.

The pilings were taken from the old rest area on U.S. 67.

Authorities say each section was 20 feet long and weighed 500 to 1,000 pounds.

The pilings were formed into a W-shape and have a value of several thousand dollars.
