Man charged with arson in Burlington

A late night fire on Tuesday damaged a Burlington home.

Burlington Police and Fire Departments responded to a fire at 1806 Madison Avenue shortly after 11 PM Tuesday.

Flames were coming from the rear of the house, and firefighters were able to get the fire under control.

The owner was not home at the time, but the house was occupied by Nina Good and her son Adam Messer, who were able to escape without injury.

The investigation of the fire was deemed suspicious, and was later determined to be intentional.

Police arrested David Good, and charged him with arson.

He is currently lodged in the Des Moines County Jail.
