More Police on Patrol During the Holiday Week

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

More Quincy Police officers will be patrolling throughout this holiday week - as part of their STEP grant.

According to Sunday's police report - there were seven STEP violations written up the previous night - mainly for drivers not wearing a seatbelt.

But police officials say the grant pays for more officers to be on patrol to look for drunk drivers, also for speeding.

Officers also plan to have extra checkpoints through the holidays.
