Gardner Denver exploring other sale, merger options

Gardner Denver officials are now reaching out to private equity firms after a deal with SPX Corp. fell through last week.

WGEM business partner Bloomberg reports that SPX officials ended negotiations to purchase Gardner Denver because SPX shareholders didn't like the deal.

Multiple reports in mid-December stated SPX was in exclusive talks to purchase Gardner Denver for as much as $4.2 billion. The purchase would have valued SPX at approximately $7 billion, and the deal was expected to be finished by the end of the year.
