If you received some expensive gifts over the holiday season, you might want to think about getting them insured.
Insurance agents say many people forget some of their valuables aren't covered by their homeowners insurance.
If you received an item that is valued over a thousand dollars you should consult your agent, because it's better to be safe than sorry.
"Sadly many people, as many as50% will forget to cover engagement rings, wedding rings when they receive them. They'll inherit a gun collection or acquire one and they don't consult their agent and unfortunately it wouldn't be covered or very limited coverage," said Allstate agent Bob Navolio.
Navolio said you might be surprised how cheap it is to insure your valuables.
Some items cost as little as two dollars a month to insure.
