Donate your frequent flier miles to wounded service members

While many of us have been spending time with family and friends, The Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs says many wounded soldiers can't make it home to see their loved ones.

But, a new program called Operation Hero Miles, brings the family to the soldier by using your unused frequent flyer miles.

Hero Miles provides travel for families of American military men and women who are being treated for injury at military hospitals.

"Frequent flier miles that are going to expire or if you just aren't going to use them, it's a good way to get rid of those and it's also a good way to help the community," said Stacy McClelland with Quincy Travel Discount.
