Use it or lose it: end of the year health care rush

The end of the year means new beginnings, but it also means the end of your health benefits.

Quincy Medical Group was packed Friday with last minute patients trying to use the rest of their health benefits for the year.

That's because as one calendar year turns to another, flexible spending accounts evaporate and deductibles roll over.

One woman says she brought her entire family to the doctor today to make sure she didn't waste her benefits.

"It's very important that you one, know what your insurance benefits are make sure that you are utilizing and capitalizing, all that you can so you can get the most bang for your buck," said Krisann Loos.

Quincy Medical Group's Ambulatory Care center will be open Saturday from 8-1 p.m. and the clinic will be open again on Monday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
