Quincy, IL (WGEM)-- It was a special treat for musical lovers in Quincy. A successful musician returned to his hometown for a special concert.
Since graduating from Quincy High School in 2006, trombone player Matthew Luhn hasn't had the opportunity to perform for friends and family in Quincy. This recital at the Kroc Center was an opportunity to once again play for the hometown crowd.
He was joined by Charles Berggren on piano. Luhn says sometimes he can get nervous to play in front of a big crowd but not today.
"When you first start performing nerves can get to you. But the more you do it the more comfortable you get. And now it's just a lot of fun, you see people you want to play for," said Luhn.
Luhn currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts and works as a professional trombonist in the greater New England area.
