Businesses seeing increase in catering tray sales

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

As the New Year comes around, businesses are seeing more people buying party trays for their New Year gathering. 

Hy-Vee was just one of the stores that makes personalized catering trays for people this holiday season.  Kitchen Manager Todd Curry says he can't even compare how many more trays are sold during the holiday's than any other day.  

"Night and day difference. You know in a typical day you might just sell a few trays, and on New Year's eve and Christmas Eve, you obviously sell hundreds of trays," Curry said. 

Curry also said he has trucks coming in numerous times a week to keep up with the demand.
