Ongoing talks with a final superintendent candidate for the Quincy School District have ended because of a breakdown in contract negotiations.
"The Quincy School District regrets to announce that it was unable to reach an agreement on the structure of an employment arrangement," School Board President Bill Daniels said in a statement released Monday morning.
Daniels added that "the district will continue the search process with the help of our consultant, School Exec Connect, who is committed to bring us qualified candidates until we select a new superintendent."
School board members will also have to look into an interim replacement. The contract for the current interim superintendent, Cal Lee, is up at the end of January.
A date for a follow-up board meeting regarding the next step in the superintendent search has not been determined.
