Snow and Icy roads forces more people to stay inside

QUINCY, Ill. (WGEM) -

One Bar and Grill said they're expecting about 300 people for their New Year's Party, but the snow hasn't made it easy on all businesses Monday night.

While Tiramisu still had a good crowd tonight, owner Roberto Stellino said they had anywhere from 80 to 100 cancellations on New Year's Eve because of the bad weather.  Typically this is the busiest day for the restaurant, but Stellino said because of the snow, people further away don't want to risk driving.

"It's hurting us a little bit.  You know of course the weather hasn't been pretty today, we had some snow early on and the people that are driving far away, they decided some people didn't want to deal with the slippery road and they called and canceled," Stellino said.

Stellino also said those cancellations opened the door for people to come in without a reservation.
