20-year-old arrested for Monroe City stabbing at New Year's Eve party

MONROE CITY, Mo. (WGEM) -

A New Year's Eve party turns violent in Monroe City, now one man is behind bars for reportedly stabbing another man.

Nathaniel Beauchamp, 20, is charged with assault, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Monroe City Police responded to 510 North Oak Street just after midnight and reportedly found a 23-year-old with a stab wound.

A short time later, authorities stopped a vehicle on Highway 24 and allegedly found Beauchamp with blood on his shirt and hands.

The victim is in stable condition at a local hospital.
