The second annual "Keep The Wreaths Red" Campaign has now come to a close.
Throughout the past month, wreaths were placed at area fire stations to serve as a visual reminder to be safe during the holiday season.
For every fire the city had, red light bulbs were changed to white.
And, this year, firefighters say they had two fires throughout the holiday season, compared with eight last year.
"There's still 2 tragedies and, of course, we want to keep those families in mind but the number of fire we had this year were down dramatically since last year and we hope that's because of the effort that we've made here," said Quincy Firefighter Michael Dade.
Dade says they may start other campaigns throughout the year to once again serve as a visual reminder to practice fire safety.
