City of Hannibal comes in under budget with roadwork

After numerous street projects were completed in Hannibal, the city announced it came under budget.

After projecting seven road projects would cost about $350,000, the city was able to save about $10,000.  The city fixed numerous potholes and cracks on streets like Bird, Hill and Market Street.  City Engineer Mark Rees said the extra money could go towards other projects in the city.

"There's a possibility that some of that because some of the changes we're proposing on the sidewalk is due to the streets, so yeah it's possible it could help out on that project as well," Rees said.

Rees also says that extra $10,000 is equivalent to paving about four blocks of roadway.
