Palmyra Library to see big changes

PALMYRA, Mo. (WGEM) -

The Palmyra Library now has a new name.  It's the Marion County Library Sub district number one.
This comes after a vote passed in August for Palmyra Residents to pay a tax for the library.  Director Peggy Northcraft said this new revenue makes things much easier on patrons.

"I'm getting the relief. The feeling of relief. We don't have to worry about losing the library.  We can look forward to we don't have to scrimp and save on everything. We can look forward to bigger and better things," she said.

Residents living inside the Palmyra school district receive free cards, but everyone else must pay $35 a year per household.
