
A Quincy University student is in critical condition after being hit by a car Monday night, according to police.
Quincy police say Shannon Peters, 19, was crossing Chestnut Street near campus when she was hit by a car heading west.
Peters was taken to Blessing Hospital and is being treated for a head injury.
No tickets have been issued, but the accident remains under investigation.
Peters is originally from Elk Grove, Illinois.
The accident happened about 6:30 p.m. Monday.
