A Pike County man charged with drug-induced homicide asked for a second bond reduction Tuesday afternoon.
24-year-old John Edgar, of Pearl, appeared in court with his lawyer for arraignment and filed a motion to reduce his bond from $100,000 to $50,000.
Edgar was charged in the September death of 52-year-old Shanda M. Lopez, who was found dead of an apparent drug overdose in her Milton home. Investigators say Edgar allegedly sold Lopez the heroin she overdosed on.
Bond was originally set at $200,000. Circuit Judge Diane Lagoski then granted a motion Nov. 20 to reduce the bond to $100,000.
Lagoski will rule on the bond reduction at Edgar's next court date, which is scheduled for Jan. 22 at 2:30.
