Quincy Public Schools Assistant Superintendent Trish Viniard is leaving to take a job in the Chicago area.
Viniard will be the new superintendent at the LaGrange-Highland School District starting July 1.
She says it's a K-8 district with around 950 students.
She has spent the last 15 years in Quincy. She says some of her best memories are when she was the principal at Washington Elementary School. A highlight for her was when Washington won the National Blue Ribbon from the Department of Education.
Viniard says Quincy helped her grow personally and professionally.
QPS is still looking to hire a permanent superintendent after Lonny Lemon left last year.
