Citizen helps police track down bank robbery suspect in Northeast Missouri

CLARENCE, Mo. (WGEM) -- A suspect in a Northeast Missouri bank robbery has been captured.

Cody Barber, 26, of Moulton, Iowa is in the Shelby County Jail for first degree robbery.

The Missouri State Highway Partrol says the Community State Bank in Clarence was robbed around 1:45 Thursday afternoon.

The suspect reportedly came into the bank with a handgun and demanded money, then ran away.

Authorities say a normal citizen followed the suspect's vehicle onto Shelby County roads and called police.

Around 2:50 p.m., a canine unit found Barber northeast of Clarence.
