No students hurt after car rear ends school bus in Scott County

No students got hurt when a car slammed into the back of their school bus in Scott County, Illinois on Thursday afternoon.

Illinois State Police say 20 children were onboard when a car driven by 56-year-old Deborah Mills rear ended the bus on Naples Road near Bluffs.

Troopers say the bus was stopped with stop lights and signs activated waiting for students to exit the bus when the crash happened.

Mills was taken to a Jacksonville hospital where she was treated and released.

She got a ticket for failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

The bus driver was not injured.
