Going to the movies as a family can be a fun way to spend your Saturday, and the Mark Twain Museum in Hannibal made the activity an educational one as well.
The museum held its first annual "Twain film festival" with movies inspired by Twain books.
Marketing and Community Relations Manager Brenna McDermott says there is a lot to get out of the day. "Not only can you take a family of four to the movies for eight dollars, but it's also films that are based in some of the literature we love the most and that's what we're all about here at the Mark Twain Museum, so not only do you get a fun day with your family, you get an educational and cultural experience," she said.
McDermott says they hope to do movie marathons annually, or more often if there's interest.
