People were invited to a memorial mass this morning to remember loved ones they have recently lost.
The memorial mass was held in the chapel at Calvary Cemetery and was sponsored by The Franciscan Firefighter Ministries.
Fire officials say the mass was held to help people in the community grief the loss of family and friends.
"Before we begin our new year, we thought it would be a nice idea to spend some time with friends and loved ones who have gone through a loss this past year and also for those who have gone through lost most recently to give them the support they need," said Quincy Fire Department Chaplain Ed Arambasich.
Officials say they hope to have a memorial mass each month in the future.
